I’ve been a huge fan of the Virtua Tennis series for other platforms, so naturally, I started looking for the best tennis games for Android. I’m pleased to say I’ve succeeded in that particular endeavor.

1. Stick Tennis

Stick Tennis specializes in simplicity. The visual elements are scaled down with fewer graphical touches compared to 3D Tennis. But, this actually is a very large advantage. First, it utilizes less of your Android device’s CPU, so, the game runs more smoothly as promised. Second, the characters look somewhat cute. They seem very likeable and welcoming to the beginners. It has many of the same features as its main competitor, 3D Tennis. A new addition is the Daily Challenge, which rewards you with new trophies and a variety of balls when completed. You can also challenge your friends for the extra competition. It provides 10 different court settings and over 70 different players to choose. Different game modes are also present ranging from World Domination, Slams, Friends Challenge, and more. Free Version

2. Play Tennis

Play Tennis is unique in its own way, and it is perfect if you’re looking for a tennis game which is different from your average one. This is because the gameplay is in the first person view. It seems weird at first, but, as you play more, you get used to it. It has beautifully designed 3D tennis courts, along with a great control system, which is quite intuitive. There are a number of tournaments that will give you a more challenging experience. It also has a trophy system to keep track of your various achievements that is sure to keep the environment competitive. You also get to choose from various degrees of skill to play against different countries. Free Version

3. Cross Court Tennis 2

One of the most realistic tennis games for Android available, Cross Court Tennis 2 coupled with its new and improved simulation is the first choice for many when considering a tennis game for Android. As far as the consumers are concerned, Cross Court Tennis 2 integrates real ball physics and professional level gaming speeds to bring up the heat. The gameplay is well-built with the ability to show-off every shot you pull off correctly. The viewing angles of every lob, slice, or volley is just plain impressive. Cross Court Tennis 2 provides 3 basic modes of gameplay; beginner, intermediate, and advanced depending on your proficiency in the game. The career mode presents you with the highest level of customization. You can create your own player and choose the skin, hair, and clothing colors. You also have the ability to create your own training program and can compete in 15 worldwide tournaments with 45 distinct opponents. Free Version

4. Tennis Champion 3D

If none of the above games worked out for you, you might want to consider Tennis Champion 3D. It provides beautiful graphics, and integrates realistic tennis graphics. The one thing that makes this game stand out from the rest is that it supports online multiplayer mode. You can play with your friends in 2 modes. One, in online multiplayer or two, in split screen multiplayer. The career mode is quite challenging with the additional functionality of the leaderboards to give you an incentive to play the game at all times. With tournaments and leagues, along with the ability to represent your own country, Tennis Champion 3D is turning out to be a very good game, indeed. Free Version

5. Free Version

3D Tennis is precisely what it sounds like. It strives to provide you with the most genuine, and the most authentic tennis experience right on your Android device. The gameplay is well thought out. The visual elements are in 3D which offers quite the edge to its competitors. It offers basic controls that do not intimidate novices players. You steer to move around a huge selection of players and swipe to slice or hit the ball. It offers 2 basic game modes; quick play mode and world tour mode. The ace of this game is participating in the 4 Grand Slam tournaments. This game is based on real-world physics, and I do not doubt that claim one bit. The control system is accurate and quite realistic to simulate the real game. All in all, the fast and fluid gameplay, along with the control system, makes this a very likely candidate for the best tennis game for Android. Free Version

CONCLUSION

Sports games are quite the challenge to get used to, and developing skill in the game is almost as hard as developing skill in real life. But, nonetheless, it is quite the experience, and I won’t deny that I thoroughly enjoyed writing this article.
