Here are a couple of quick fixes that you could try to alleviate this terrible gaming dilemma that you have. PS4 Hacks That You Can Use How to connect PS4 controller to Android

PS4 Won’t turn on? Here’s how to fix

Method 1: Check the power supply and power cable

Check if the Power Supply Cable connects properly to the PS4 unit. This fix may be obvious and a little too simple, but it happens, and it’s a common problem for many PS4 owners. This problem happened to me once before, and it was the last thing I checked. I didn’t notice that it was the problem because I never got anywhere near that part of the Playstation.

Step 1: Disconnect your PS4 from the Power Supply Unit

The power cord might not be connected properly. Also, there might be dust particles or perhaps even the occasional insect inside the port that hinders the power from surging properly. Disconnect your PS4 from the Power Supply Unit and clean everything in between, make sure that there isn’t any dirt or dust that could potentially stop the PS4 from working correctly. After doing this move on to the next step

Step 2: Wait for 30 seconds after unplugging the console

By unplugging the system for 30 seconds, you’re allowing the PS4 to reset itself. This could potentially fix any software malfunction or bugs that prevent your PS4 from turning on.

Step 3: Plug in the power cable and restart

After 30 seconds, plug your console back in and check if your Playstation will turn on. If it still doesn’t turn on, let’s move on to the next method and try Power Cycling your PS4.

Method 2: Clean your PS4

Another reason why your PS4 won’t turn on is that it’s dirty inside, and maybe it’s about time for you to clean up your PlayStation. Maybe the vents are too dirty, and because of that, your PS4 overheats. It could be messier if you have pets inside your house, as their fur could enter through the ducts. I learned this the hard way with my PS3, and I had to open it up just to clean out all of the gunk that stored up because I never had the time to clean it up.

Step 1: Clean the air ducts of your PS4

Make sure the PS4 is not connected to the power supply. Blow through the air ducts or try using a paperclip to clear accumulated dirt on the vents, but be careful not to hit any of the PS4’s hardware. Use a rag to clean your PS4 and clean the place where you place your PS4

Step 2: Open the top plate of your PS4

For the removal of the top plate, refer to this video: After removing the top plate, dust off the accumulated dirt, if there is any and clean the PS4’s hard disk. Again, ensure that the PS4 power cable is unplugged before you do this as it may create even more problems for you. After cleaning the top plate of your PS4, assemble everything back together, including the hard drive and top plate. Plug in the power cable and put everything back together and turn on your PS4. If it still doesn’t light up after you’ve ensured your power cable connections, you may have a hardware problem; and your PS4 might need servicing. If it lights up, but it doesn’t turn on entirely. Continue to the next step.

Method 3: Power cycle your PS4 and restart in safe mode

If the fix above didn’t work for you, let’s power cycle your PS4. Power cycling the PS4 is helpful, and it can be done when you’re having performance issues with your consoles, such as frame rate drops or lags. Power cycling could also be done to try and reset your console. If your PlayStation lights up but doesn’t turn on, try this. After power cycling your PS4, we can try rebuilding the database in safe mode. (If safe mode is accessible) Follow the steps below and try to use this method to fix your PS4.

Step 1: Make sure the plugs are connected properly

Properly connect the plugs to its sockets and make sure that everything is connected correctly. Ensure that the PS4 does light up, otherwise proceed to the next step.

Step 2: Hold down the power button

After ensuring that everything is connected correctly, hold down the power button. It should light up and flash. Hold down the power button until your PS4 stops flashing. When the power button stops flashing, leave it alone for at least 30 minutes.

Step 3: Leave your PlayStation alone

Find something else to do for the next 30 minutes. Also, another vital thing to note is that if your PS4 does light up, but only shows a blue light for a few minutes and then turns off, it might have the BLoD. If your PS4 has the BLoD, then I’m afraid there is nothing more we can do for you. Your PS4 has hardware problems such as solder joints that have corroded. Or possible faulty internal hardware. You can have your PS4 serviced, although as usual, it will take a little bit of time, as well as a lot of money. But if it does turn on although it doesn’t continue to boot up, boot it up on safe mode and rebuild your database.

Step 4: Open in safe mode and rebuild your PS4 database

After power cycling your PS4, open it on safe mode. Plugin your Dualshock 4 controller to your PS4. Hold down the power button until the end of the second beep and then release it. Your PS4 should enter safe mode, and it should look like this. In the Safe Mode, choose “Rebuild Database” and wait for the process to finish. Restart your PlayStation and check to see if rebuilding the database worked for you. If it didn’t work, a last course of action that I would suggest would be percussive maintenance, but please do proceed with caution.

Method 4: Get your PS4 serviced

If you’ve tried all of the steps above without success, then I’m sorry to say this but your PS4 has hardware problems. It’s possible that your PS4 has faulty hardware components, and the problem is not in the software itself. If so, contact Sony customer support for servicing. If your PlayStation still has a warranty, you can return it to the vendor and have them ship out the console for servicing.
